Just Cowboy Hats Liquidation - Many of you already know Brody “Taco” Prieto and his wife, Theresa. For those of you who do not, Brody was a member of VF-14 and VF-103. When he returned from Afghanistan in 2002, he was diagnosed with ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease. After three years of battling the debilitating illness, all while maintaining his faith, sense of humor, and drive for life, Brody passed away on September 16^th. He leaves behind his wife and three young children, Kaley, Skyler, and Brody Preston.

During the past three years, Brody has had a business selling cowboy hats to raise funds to assist with his medical expenses. Now, his family would like to liquidate the inventory of that business. The proceeds will be placed in a memorial fund that was set up for the family (NFCU account 3005241264). These are wonderful quality hats and are being sold for only $15. They make fabulous gifts! The Oceana Scholarship Fund is seeking interested parties for the position of Vice President and also for the position of Secretary.  This is a great opportunity to give back to our military community.  The OSF gives out scholarships every year to deserving spouses and dependents of active duty military stationed at NAS Oceana.  If interested, please contact Cindy T at OSFinc@juno.com.
